The court marriage is an official union of a man and a woman which is solemnized under the court of law. Court marriage is solemnized with the help of a lawyer and is conducted in front of the Registrar/Magistrate, who makes the marriage legal and official.

Sharing of properties? She might file for a divorce and seek for division of properties I guess. Lol

Well, let me say this from what I found out recently and I wish legal experts can educate us more. If you think that court marriage gives a lady 100% custody over a man’s estates then you are mistaken. I don’t think so.

In fact court marriage is the best. Having the legal security of a court wedding may turn out to be a saving grace in the event that everything doesn’t go well.

For instance, being legally married protects you against the practice of bigamy, which will be punished by 5 years of imprisonment.
