“The Ancestors Will Protect Us” – Gomora’s Don Israel Matseke Zulu Reassures Zola 7
Talented actor and media personality Israel Matseke-Zulu has reassured Bonginkosi “Zola 7” Dlamini that despite having seen better days, the two will not die any time soon as their ancestors and God will protect them.
Matseke-Zulu, who played the role of criminal gangster ‘Don’ on Mzansi Magic’s popular telenovela Gomora, suffered a huge blow when his leg was amputated due to gangrene.
Veteran tv presenter and kwaito artist Zola 7 is feeling under the weather and had fans worried after a video of him looking frail went viral on social media platforms.
Since the news of Zola 7’s ill-health went public, celebrities and influencers have been visiting him and offering him their support.
Despite his own health woes, Israel Matseke Zulu took the time to visit Zola 7 and reassure him that he is not dying soon. This comes just months after fake reports on social media declared the Lwandle singer dead.
The former Gomora star reassured his mate that they would not die soon as God and their ancestors would look after them.
The actor posted a video on social media announcing that he had enjoyed his visit. He captioned the video,
“I had a wonderful time with Zola, reminiscing about life, our careers, YizoYizo, our friendship, and how God and ancestors have been great to both of us.
“We are not going to die anytime soon. It was good to see you.”
In the video, the former Gomora actor opens up on his battle and recovery following the amputation of his leg.
“In the past, I was too relaxed, but now I am on a fast pace. I was comfortable back then, but now I am more curious.”
He also opened up to the Daily Sun, saying that he is no longer in pain after the successful surgery.
“After my operation in December, I was free. I was fine emotionally and mentally. Physically, the pain I felt in my leg was completely gone.
“I sometimes even forget I no longer have two legs. That’s how well I have been. I’ve been attending physiotherapy sessions and I have two more to go. They said I’ve healed quickly,” said Israel.
